Urgent- Journalism or Prose? (UEA)

I'm a second year student at the University of East Anglia, and have just begun the journalism module. I'm only a week in but I'm beginning to have second thoughts about it.

I wanted to do journalism so that I could create a portfolio and hopefully get into the Journalism field early, but it isn't something I want to do as a lifetime career. In the long term I'd prefer to write creatively for a living rather than chase news stories. My worry is that even if I complete the module I won't have the integrity to keep up even a small job in Journalism, and wasted this semester's opportunity to work on my prose which is another important part of the end game.

Can anyone here who has completed the module tell me whether it's worth doing?
