Examination Details:

Date: Wednesday 4th November 2015

Time: Morning (9am)

Duration: 1hr 45m

Welcome to the Edexcel GCSE Mathematics Higher Tier Discussion Thread. On this thread you may discuss anything upon the upcoming non-calculator exam.
I have attached a formula sheet, which you will be given in the front of your exam paper, but I have also included some formulas, which the exam board does not provide you with.

Formulas:

SOH CAH TOA
sinx = opposite/hypotenuse
cosx = adjacent/hypotenuse
tanx = opposite/adjacent

Surface area of a cylinder = 2πrh+2πr²Area of a sector = theta / 360 * πr²
Length of an arc = theta / 360 * 2πr
Area of a segment = Area of sector - Area of triangle = (theta / 360 * πr²) -(1/2 * b * h)

Density, Mass and Volume of any shape
Volume of 3-Dimensional Shapes (Cube, Cuboid, Cylinder and Prism)
Cube = Length * Length * Length or (Length)^3Cuboid = Length * Breadth * Height
Cylinder = Area of circle * height = πr²h
Prism = Area of cross-section * length

No problemo!
I like the format used from my thread :smile:.
Good luck to everyone taking part in the exam and it's really kind of you that you made this kind of thread as the exam is not far.
Thanks. I just did not want to copy and paste yours, so I changed it by just as tad :smile:

Good luck guys, aim high and do a past paper every day!
Also, don't forget to mark the past paper and do all the questions you got wrong again until you get 100% on it. You guys should have enough time to do it for at least 3-4 past papers if not all.

I'd be doing at least 3 past papers everyday lol and doing what you said, on top of watching countless videos on YouTube showing how to attempt the questions. Intensive but so worth it...

Yeah, that's what I'd recommend. But, I wouldn't say it if I can't do it myself - but not many people are lazy like me. I go into an exam without revising which is the worst thing you could possibly do.

If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

I will finish all the papers by the November exams.

Good luck to you all :smile:
