Career opportunity for undergraduate student in York

I am in a big dilemma. I had aimed to study Finance courses in Bath or Cass. The reason I have applied to the Finance course in the two later universities because I like to work in Investment Banking after graduate. THEN I got an offer for L100 Economics from York.

Choice is available but making decision is always hard. After doing research on universities & job , I realize that I want NOT to specialise and want to do Economics in university. Since any skill in such area like Finance can be adopted as long as you are quick learner (etc.), a degree like Economics will not constrain my potential career in Investment Banking. However, from what people said about Economics course in YORK, the students there rarely get into IB due to relative lower reputation, rigid Economics course, too-far-from-London location and whatever I can't guess. Those information swept away my imagination about "good York" (I don't say Bath & Cass are bad but I prefer Economics course). I really don't know what to do. Can anyone help me?
If you want to get into IB, go to Oxbridge or LSE.. apparently.

If you prefer the other uni's you could ask if they would let you change to economics. They might not but you've nothing to lose by e-mailing and asking them, they can't take away the offers you've already got.

The situation is basically the same for undergrad at Bath and CASS (according to people in the IB forum) - none of these 3 will be great for getting you into IB, either way you'll have to have brilliant EC's/degree prediction/etc to backup your application. disclaimer: this is just what i can tell from reading the IB forum

I've got quite a few friends from York working in IBs such as BarCap, Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse etc. So yeah, York can get you into IB. Also take reading the IB forum on here with a pinch of salt. People who aren't even in the industry telling you what to take, where to go. Most of it is subjective.
Basically just be a top dog at your subject. The people I know in the industry were.
