Slightly delayed but it's time to reveal my results...
Mathematics A*
English Language A
English Literature B
Science A*
Additional Science A*
Social studies A
French A
History A
4 A*s, 4 As and 1 B🎉🎉
My thoughts:
Maths - expected
English language - extremely shocked, thought I got a C in the exam but got an A*😮
English literature - gutted, I knew I ran out of time but honestly wasn't that worried about this exam
Sciences - I was predicted high grades but did find the additional science papers fairly hard
Citizenship - Wanted an A* but I'm still happy, grade boundaries are quite tight
French - very shocked, was a subject I detested yet worked hard. Got A* in both exams😮
History - content, my exams went well (gratefully) could have gotten an A* but my c/a bought it down😢
Overall I'm shocked with my grades and quite pleased. When I was in year 10 I wasn't predicted As and A*s and to think I was so close to getting 9 A*-A grades baffles me😳!
In comparison to my initial predicted grades at the start of this thread...didn't quite meet it. My predicted grades were exaggerated at the start, to be honest it was an aspiration, like a dream. I did excel in French and was a grade below for English lit and Citizenship. To be that close I'm satisfied. After I completed my exams I had bad feelings about literally all of them but it turned out to go well.
My experience with GCSEs: Honestly now I feel as I feel as if they weren't that important. Even towards results day I wasn't nervous/scared, I didn't care too much. I was fairly excited for results day. This is going a bit off tangent but I believe GCSEs help you to get into your desired college/sixth form but after that they're irrelevant. You need 5 A-C grades preferably with a B in Maths and English Lang and you're sorted. A Levels are much more significant so bring it on (please don't😢)! Back to GCSEs, they weren't extremely difficult, a few subjects I struggled with were Maths, French and English Language but with my own revision I improved. Also I didn't feel the need to revise for hours and lose out on sleep, as I felt sleep was definitely more important. Reading my past posts saying I feel stressed😂😂😂, that wasn't real stress it was unnecessary stress.
