Application to a creative writing programme?

Hi - not sure if this is the right forum, but I wasn't sure where to post this.

I'm applying to this two-year writing programme. I'm very excited about it and, obviously, I'm going to write all of it, but I was hoping for a few tips to start it, or what to put in. I have some general ideas, but I'm a little stuck:

"To apply, please send us some examples of your writing with a cover note of no more than 2 pages telling us about you, your writing, and what you’d like us to do for you. Please send us up to ten pages of prose/script or ten poems/songs, or URLs where we can watch or listen to your work."

I'm not totally sure what would be 'appropriate' - as in, what would they be looking for in application? Would I talk about favourite authors? Awards for writing I've won? What I'm hoping to study? I am also a year below the acceptance age, but they said they can make an exception, so now I feel under pressure! Aggghhh!

Thank you for any help :-)
