For the past few weeks I've become depressed, this is mainly because me and my best friends have parted ways. Ever since then I've lost many friends, they gained more and now I'm basically sad.

In all honesty, are you sure you're truly depressed and not just "sad" about parting ways?
To answer your question, try contacting them and doing things together over the summer, or even meeting new people or some of your friends who you aren't close to (there are lots of events going on in the summer).
You shouldn't be placing your happiness in other people, you need to be happy with yourself as an individual so this situation does not happen in the future.
