EPQ ideas gender in history/literature/politics

So I'm starting my EPQ soon and I have no idea what to do it on! I am really interested in the history of gender inequality, or the effect of gender in politics but I can't actually think of a question.

(side note - I cannot do 'women in literature' as that is what I am doing in English)

Any help would be appreciated!

What about something on gender in media (other than literature) - it would be fairly straight forward to do some primary research on representation in newspapers/TV/radio/websites over a short period of time and there's quite a lot of research already out there on the topic to bring into a literature review. You could always follow up with some qualitative interviews/focus groups on any specific stereotypes or patterns that emerge.
