College Bursary Eligibility

I've applied for a college bursary because my mum earns just under 20 grand a year and this means she struggles to provide travel expenses and money for trips, research material, printing etc. I also need a new laptop (it's key to my studies, there's a lot of coursework and research assignments) which is completely out of the question on my Mum's salary. She gets Income Support and child tax credit for me but on the GOV website it says under eligibility a student needs to be a receiving Income Support "in their own right". I was wondering if anyone could shed light on whether or not i'd be eligible for a bursary with this criteria. Thanks!
