I have seen on some previous questions for both the play you have been in and the play you have gone to see they sometimes use the terms 'theatrical conventions' or 'theatrical devices'. What exactly are these? I am fine with the paper as a whole, but I just don't entirely understand what elements these two terms are trying to get you to write about. Thanks.
Hey, our teacher told us that they always try to use words like those to throw you off when really 'devices', 'conventions', 'mediums', 'techniques' are all the same: methods that you used to create drama. And if this helps, according to an online dictionary:
A theatrical convention is a practical device used by the playwright or director to help tell the story of the play in the theatre.
