For psychology i find the best way to revise is break all the info down into basic points, then arrange them on an A3 sheet using diff colours. It works well because each section is divided into bio then genetics, psychological then psychoanalysis, behaviourism etc. It's kind of like a spider diagram but i just use big square simple boxes with one topic e.g. behaviourism in it.
Yeah i kind of do that, i make mind-maps I'm a 'visual' person so i remember pictures a lot more easily than reams of writing. For example, the word 'anonymous' will go right out of my head, a stick man with a bag over his head however, now that image will stay with you for life
4 A) Explain what is meant by the term gender bias (5 marks) B)'Bias in psychological research has distored our inderstanding of male and female behaviour'. Discuss gender bias in Psychological theories and/or studies. (25 marks)
5 Discuss ethical issues involved in psychological investigations using human participants. Refer to at least three psychological studies in your answer. (30 marks)
Thanks!
I know these questions inside out. AND behavioural therapies too. I'm piiiiissssed... since this June exam will ask everything I DON'T know, most probably. I really wanted this paper for June! Le sigh!
i reckon cultural bias will come up.. does any one have any model answer's im definately going to fail!
I definitely think it'll come up, it hasn't for years. I wish I had some answers too, but noooo. I tried to study it yesterday but gave up half way - zzzz!
Jan 08 it was Gender Bias and Ethical issues with Human Participants
rrr i knew them pretty wel! especially gender bias! maaan, im screwed for this exam. havnt gt a clu on wher to start on ethical issues in non human ptpts as wel. n dnt get me started on the approaches questions lol. i know sum people hav sed pya4 is harder, but for sme reason nothin from pya5 seems to be goin in!

Then blue tack them next to my bed in turns. It sounds simple but i find it really helpful for gettng it all clear and organised in my mind. And don't just copy out all your notes really small into each box. Say for clincal characteristics of depression, just put emotional, motivational, somatic and cognitive, then force yourself to think of symptoms for each category. And for genetic causes just put genetics - Egeland - Amish.
I've got all high As so far so try it!
can you elaborate on this more pls, i mean if you just put cues like what your doing (emotional, motivational etc) how will that enable you to expand on it in the exam you cant give one word answeres lol. im guessing you use this after uve revised from you 'complete' notes...right..right?

Yeah I find that if i read my notes a couple of times, i'll think it hasn't gone. But then if i look at the cues like 'somatic' i'll remember about the insomnia, hypersomnia things, and wouldn't have remembered them had i not had the cue. But if you can't remember the extra information just look it up in your notes again until you can. If you keep trying to get this huge chunk of information to go in you'll just feel stressed and overloaded, but this makes it seem less painful.
ok a very serious question. in theory if you do an essay for each subtopic in unit 4 and memorized the essay all you would need to do is reproduce that in the exam and youve got an A! questions are always discuss, outline and evaluate, critically consider. what do you guys think?? tell me
