Access to HE Diploma - Social work

Evening everyone,

My local university is offering this course starting in September and I am looking at registering because it looks more interesting (for me) than one that the college is offering, because they are offering the nursing access only.

Has anyone studied the social worker diploma? There is the option of a different course at another college nearby, and this would be in Humanities and social sciences.

Both different courses...and both look interesting so am torn now!

If anyone has an opinion on them, good or bad please let me know and if you have an idea of what books were read that would be good - I tend to get 2nd hand so I can ahead where I can, I have MS and sometimes struggle so like to be totally organised!

Thanks everyone and have a lovely week if you enjoy the warm weather we are expecting ;-)

Surely the sensible thing to do is to contact the uni and ask for a syllabus/ breakdown of the course.
You will need to do some research into whether you are interested in social work or nursing.
The access course that would keep both those options open is one in Health and social care.

The Humanities and social science should just be a it of Lit, history, Geog.

They are all very different courses.

Also more details about access here as well as the search facility.

If you have MS then im sure you will have though about how that will affect you in the future.
You should also enquire what assistance the provider can give to someone with a disability.
