hi, im finding AS Law, delegated legislation difficult and i have a test! can any one help me with this question: why is delegated legislation necessary?

thank you

I am afraid you haven't been told all the information which is absolutely necessary for the exam so I have included a page which should be extremely useful especially for revision. (see attachment)

Be wary of that revision guide. I bought it for my AS exams. It was absolute sh*te. Did not go into nearly enough detail. By "The English Legal System" by Elliot & Quinn. Make notes from it. If you remember them all, you're guaranteed an A. You probably won't even need to go to half your classes.

Thanks but it is a good revision book apart from the crap chapter on legal funding but all the books are crap on this, I still got B in that module but an A overall for AS.

delegated legislation is important to save time and money within parliment. Also, it gives local autorities more control over thier area which is good because they know the local problems better than parliment are likely to. Also, by delegating legislation to different departments such as transport and health it is specialisation within thier area of expertise. After all there is no point asking people in the defence department to do work within transport.

On the other hand it has been critisised for giving local authorities and diferent departments too much power. We live in a democracy and yet people that we have not voted into power have the ability to make, create and change laws.

It would unpractical not too have delegated legislation, however there is contraversy over the amount of power given departments and local authorities.

Perhaps next time you could just post your question once. I've already replied on your other thread a few days ago, but your responses would be better if everyone was able to discuss it, rather than it being fragmented.
