The black and white thing is kinda depressing - I miss the pictures of everyone at the start! Plus it made it more dramatic when something bad happened so they had no credits.

That's awful! I'm hoping it's made up as apparently it came from Wikipedia, but there are all those fan videos with it, and it's something Peyton says a lot. Added to that, with the whole "older" thing I'm thinking maybe they thought that was a good idea.
