Nottingham Trent or University of Reading?

Can someone please give me some advice on which university I should firm to study Psychology. Ive decided to make Plymouth my insurance.

Nottingham Trent has offered me ABB and Reading has offered me BBB if I firm.

I really want the best social experience possible at university and enjoy parties, drinking etc. Trent has a better nightlife than Reading from what I’ve read so far. As there’s a pandemic, I’m not sure if nightlife reputation is important or not anymore because it’s not the same as it used to be. But I definitely do not want to have a dead social life at uni.

Also I live in London so Reading is closer to home.

Reading has a better reputation than Trent. In rankings for Psychology, Trent is higher than Reading. Trent is also Gold TEF, whereas Reading is silver.

I’m really stuck on what to pick, any advice would be so appreciated!!

Hi there,

I am currently a final year student at Reading University, so hopefully I can offer some insight!

Reading is a great campus university, which has everything you need close by. Our accommodation options are mainly on campus and we have a wide variety of options. We also have many student bars, a great students union and shops close by on campus. As well as it being massively spacious and green - creating a great atmosphere when you first move to the University.

We have good social life, ranging from lots of options on campus to a great town centre, and lots of our halls are very sociable with everyone in the same position when they move to university.

The University and teaching standard have been great, as well as future career services and on campus support for whatever you need.

If you have any other questions about Reading - please let us ambassadors know!

Hey @kiremio,

If you have any questions about studying here at Reading, please let us know!
Delia's advice still stands true, but I'd say our social scene is a lot more prominent nowadays with our Student Union and local bars/clubs always hosting events, as well as over 130 different societies you can join. A housemate of mine just completed her undergraduate in Psychology, and the support and placement opportunities she accessed here at Reading enabled her to go on to study a Masters in a related field.

I'd encourage you to have a look at the balance of work-socialising wherever you choose, and definitely make sure to look at the opportunities on offer in terms of skill development and work experience, as this can really make the difference when it comes to finding a job. You can find out all about what we offer in terms of this here and here.

Hope this helps! Let us know if there's anything you'd like to learn more about
