Thank you! Hope that you receive a reply soon.

Thanks! Congrats on your offer too. Are you planning on accepting it? I'm not sure since I haven't heard back from CSM yet.

I haven’t heard back from Kingston yet, I hope I do. I also applied to CSM, though I doubt I’ll get in. I really want to go to Kingston and I like CSM but I’m a bit intimidated by it.

Oh my god my bad I mixed up your username with a previous user lol my bad!! I hope you hear back soon X sorry for this mix up.

Same I'm kind of intimidated by CSM and I much prefer Kingston's course. However, Kingston is a lot more inconvenient for me bc of the location. You get two weeks to accept the offer but I just know CSM wont give me a response by then lol.

Omg same! I applied to csm and Kingston but I’d much rather go Kingston as it just seems to be a lot more social and friendly and for a foundation course, I feel like that’s the priority atleast for me. And I mean it’s also only a one year course so I’d just much rather do my foundation at Kingston and then maybe after consider going to ual for a degree. I just hope that we’re able to all get offers to the places that are best for us  soonnn

Honestly! I feel like kingston will give me more of a traditional uni experience and it’d be a good way to ease into ual.
I talked to an ex-CSM art Foundation student and while they said it's was a great course, it was often quite clique-y. In addition, the buildings were often overcrowded because the course takes in a lot of students lol.

I agree with you guys I think I prefer the Kingston course more than CSM because of the environment. Plus getting more time one on one time with the tutors would be nice.

I have a friend who said exactly that at CSM too. when I was on one of the kingston art foundation applicant experience day sessions yesterday they made the Kingston course sound very nice in terms of the student community, the amount of time with tutors etc. At first I wasn't 1000% sure about accepting my offer but now I definitely will, plus I feel like CSM are still going to take a while to get back... they tend to be very slow with foundation offers....

Hey guys! My girlfriend also applied recently to CSM and she is really stressed about it. I have two questions:

- Were your A-levels or equivalent grades really good?
- Did you guys upload your portfolios along with the applications?

Thank you

Hiya!

1) Yeah my predicted grades are AAB but with art unis grades don't really matter that much. Most just want you to pass an a level or pass them all. So, that part really isn't a big deal.
2) They asked for my portfolio after I sent my application which included my grades and some other stuff.

Tell her not to worry too much. She should be fine. Hope this helps!

Helps a ton!
Just a couple more questions, When did you apply and how long after did they ask for your portfolio? Have you gotten an acceptance?

Thank you so much

I can't remember the exact date I applied but I think it was late January. So maybe around the 20th (not 100% sure) They requested my portfolio on the 9th of February. I haven't actually submitted my portfolio yet because they're asking for a lot so I'm still trying to get work together. The application deadline is on the 31st of march and the portfolio deadline is on the 23rd of April. I think sometimes it takes a while for unis like ual to get back to people because they get a lot of applications. If she's worried about anything, she should email admissions and I'm sure they'll get back to her asap!

1) I don't think A-Level grades / predicted will matter too much; I think they will decide mainly on the portfolio (maybe interview too?). These courses allow people who aren't doing art A-Levels - or A-Levels - to apply.

CSM Entry Requirements:
- 1 A Level or equivalent

- Or equivalent Level 3/EU/International qualifications, such as International Baccalaureate Certificates two at ‘Higher Level’ and one at ‘Standard Level’ - all Grade 4 or above.
And three GCSE passes at grade 4 or above (grade A*-C).

Entry to this course will also be determined by assessment of your portfolio.

2) For Kingston art foundation, yes. For CSM no. Actually, I just received a request from CSM a few hours ago to submit my portfolio.
I submitted CSM 19th Feb ~2 weeks ago.

As shnice has said, if she's worried she can contact email admissions for more information. Hope this helps

Just to let you guys know, I put in my application on February 1st, and received an unconditional offer today! So if anyone is still waiting for a reply, you'll hear back this week or next week I would have thought.
I also don't meet the entry criteria for the GCSE's or A-levels, but was offered a place. So don't worry if you are lacking any qualifications - the quality of the portfolio is what is most important it seems.

Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Hey, has everyone else been sent an email about student support from the recruitment team today? I haven’t heard back about my application yet.
