Things to do around Kingston Upon Thames
Kingston-upon-Thames is a great place to live. It is just 30 minutes away from central London by train! However, there are so many things to do around this area that I rarely feel the need to go to somewhere else.
My favourite thing to do in Kingston is to walk by the river. During summer there is so much life here. You can have a picnic there, take a book with you or you can even have some beers or a smoothie with your friends. There you can also find some pubs and restaurants and the best part is that most of them will give you student discounts.
By the river you can also rent a pedalo, paddle boat or kayak or go to Richmond and Hampton Court by boat. There are many different rental boat companies by the river
Kingston also has a lovely market where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, and foods from different countries. It is great during Christmas!
You can go to Not My Beautiful House in Kingston where you can find handmade items made by students and locals.
Canbury Gardens is also a great place for having picnics!
If you are into history you can visit Kingston Museum & Heritage Service
For shopping you can visit The Bentall Centre
And for a movie night or a games night you can visit the Rotunda!
