"Strain budgets" to pay for private schools sounds ridiculous, there's many of us who come from low-income families that already are pinched for cash - we can't strain our budgets anymore! Growing up my mum worked two full time-jobs, we never used heating, would batch-cook dinners to freeze to avoid using the oven more than needed, and never had an holidays or luxuries! Still couldn't afford a private school, we were below the poverty line! I hate to bring this up like a sob story, but the people who write these articles need a reality check desperately. If you can budget in a private school you are not disadvantaged, you are most likely upper middle class.

There's also the idea in the article that working-class parents don't care about their children because they can't afford textbooks, desks, private schools tutors, whatever. How ridiculous, what else can one expect from the Daily Mail of all things. :mad:
