How's life here?

No questions about the teaching since it seems good but if you have anything to say about that feel free to. Just wondering what it's like living there since if I study here, I want to make sure I won't hate being there. The area seems kinda lifeless since it looks very car-heavy with all the huge roads and not a lot of chain stores, very old looking. Also how are the people? Is it diverse?

The University of Huddersfield is located in Huddersfield, a scenic historic market town in West Yorkshire. It is close to a beautiful countryside and is home to a thriving student community with at least 20,000 students.
Huddersfield has many cafes and restaurants and also a local theatre and live music! This provides plenty of opportunity for socialising with friends :smile:

In Huddersfield you are also able to enjoy the beautiful national parks where you can go for walks, cycle or even horse riding!
