Yes, they said it was a mistake and they would send more information about registration in March when I emailed them.

Hello everyone!

I was looking around for threads for Nottingham April cohort offer holders for 2024 entry, and thought I'd make one

I'm a y13 student with an ABB conditional offer.

Ive already gotten to try chatting with a few other offer holders (I'm just so excited- even if it is a whole year away!) and I'd love to meet many more.

I look forward to meeting you all next year!

- ghostie :hoppy:

Hi I am also an April off holder for 2024, I am an international student and was just wondering if i could meet any other international students :<

Hi! I’m a current April student. I’m not an international student but just wanted to say that when you arrive at nottingham there is plenty of ways to meet and connect with other international students. There’s a little shop that’s open (can’t remember the times) that sells essentials you might need but couldn’t bring with you (cups, bedding etc) for cheap! There’s also the globe cafe which is where international students (and non international but it’s mainly international) meet up and play games, chat and have snacks! If you want more information they have an Instagram page!

Hi I wondered if you could offer an over view of the advantages and disadvantages if April start please ? My daughter had an offer for April 25. Which was her first choice so she could have a break after A levels. In particular how does accom work are all April vets in halls together. Mixing with other courses. Year 2/3 accommodation and the placements thanks

Heya!! Don’t worry if you do not see this but I was just intrigued to know when you got your student email? I’m hoping to get an iPad for uni but I don’t want to have to get it once I’ve started and I would also like to use the ‘education discount’ that Apple provide (which I need the email for)🙂
Thank you!🩷

Hi! What are your general thoughts on the university? Have you enjoyed it so far? I am a bit concerned about security; a lot of negative posts on Quora have my head spinning. Is the city really that bad?

If you are doing vet med you are not on the main campus in the city! You are maybe 25 mins (more maybe depending on traffic etc) away from the main campus and instead are in a very small village “in the middle of no where”. Campus in Sutton Bonnington has security 24/7 and due to it being a small village you’re much less likely going to be unsafe. I know that I feel extremely safe there!! You’re are actually closer to Loughborough when at Sutton Bonnington! I’d you are not doing vet med or actually want to stay on main campus and commute in everyday (don’t recommend, but obviously it is up to you, as there could be issues with transport getting you into lectures, practicals etc and SB has a community which as a vet student is really great). Sutton Bonnington is great, very peaceful so do bare that in mind. I also do not know anyone who hasn’t enjoyed there time here.

Is it a pain living on a different campus for the social side, nights out etc ?

Heyy! There is obviously a little less to do on SB campus but there are still societies and planned events! In terms of getting to main campus there is a free bus but then from there you are still a bit away from the city centre! So even those on main campus are not right in the middle of city life and still have to get the bus or tram. If you are not super into clubbing it’s great on SB but equally if you are into it, you’re only a bus ride (or taxi/uber) away from Loughborough and a bus and tram from Notts city. Loads of people go into town regularly and actually enjoy the pre drinks and chatting on transport the way there!

Hope that helps

Thanks that does help! Do vet students usually socialise with only other vet students or do most end up being friends with students from the other campus aswell

I can’t quite remember but I think it was like the week before so it was a quite late. We did all get £300 to spend on electronics but I don’t know if they are still doing this
