Criminology in the media

Hi, for one of my courses I have to choose an aspect of criminology (e.g a crime, the people involved such as victims, defendants or a criminal justice agency) and analyse it in relation to issues within media and the public.

I initially planned on doing either White Collar Crime, the conditions/issues within prisons or the portrayal of victims/murders however I have no idea what media I could use. Ideally it’d be a TV show (can be one specific episode) or film as I have watched a lot however I feel like I would struggle explaining it or there wouldn’t be enough to talk about. Has anyone had a similar task to do, if so could I receive some guidance on where to start etc?

If anyone has watched anything that they feel explores any of the ideas above, then please let me know too! I’ve watched B99, Luther, Lucifer, Bodyguard Ultraviolet and a few others among the same lines.

Any help is appreciated!
Could it be a documentary? Plenty of crime documentaries.

Otherwise, TIME a TV drama starring Sean Bean worth looking at.
