I advise you to actually check your algebra first before asking. Not that it's a stupid question, but it feels like "oh I got it wrong, and I'm not bothered to find out why on my own". Anyway.

The step you are concerned about is related to the formula sin(2x)=2sin(x)cos(x). So one step should look particularly enticing to answer your query...

sin2ucos2u=(sinucosu)2\displaystyle \sin^2 u \cos^2 u = \left( \sin u \cos u \right)^2

Then use this identity:

sin2x2sinxcosx\displaystyle \sin 2x \equiv 2\sin x \cos x
