Critical Discourse analysis

I am currently doing an assignment on Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and need some help writing it up. Due to the many strikes we had last term, we missed many lessons, and it's like doing self-study. I'm analysing two newspapers (One left-wing and one right-wing) with the same article, but I'm confused about how to go about it or structure the essay. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Hi @farahaamir,

Have you looked at the study support and academic writing services available through your university?

At Keele, for example, we offer a service called Write Direction. Our students can access free one-to-one academic coaching up to six times per academic year. Write Direction advisors are not subject specialists so they can't assist with the content of an essay but they are able to give guidance and advice on areas such as essay planning, structure, academic writing style, proofreading etc. They also produce accessible online content on essay planning and structure that students can access at any time.

Most universities offer services such as these as part of their Student Services and/or Library teams so it is worth looking into what your university offers in this regard.

Remember also that you can (and should) reach out to your tutors. Most university lecturers will offer a weekly office hour during which students can drop-in with queries about the module and their academic work. In addition to discussing your ideas and giving guidance, your tutors may also be able to provide comment on an essay plan and or writing sample. They are there to help you, so make use of that time and expertise.

Hope that helps!
