If the money transfer was put on hold, it's likely that the funds were frozen by the bank for some reason. In this case, switching banks won't automatically release the hold on the funds. Depending on the reason for the hold, it may take some time for the funds to be released. If you switch banks while the funds are still on hold, the original bank will still be responsible for releasing the funds to the intended recipient or returning the funds to you, depending on the circumstances.
