I need Help with my calculator

My calculator is casio fx-991ex
While using the cmplx mode all the results i get are in the r, degree mode i just need normal results so how i can i convert it back to give me normal results
For example if i calculate (1+i)^2 it gives me 2,<90. Instead of 2i

According to the manual. Go into setup and select complex mode 1. (Complex mode 1 is for rectangular coordinates and mode 2 is the polar coordinate mode).

Can't help further as I don't have the calculator.
