Chemistry needed for Biology Degree at Oxford Uni?

Is a chemistry degree needed for bio degree at Oxford uni? As in, does it make an application less competitive if I don’t have it?

No, you don’t need a chemistry degree, but postgraduate courses for biology may accept a chemistry degree.

Are you applying for undergraduate or postgraduate?

Apparently I’m an idiot - I meant to type chemistry a level, not degree!

Ah, I wasn’t sure if you were looking for a postgraduate course or applying for a second undergraduate course initially, but that does clear things up.

No, if you are applying to Oxford, you are most likely not an idiot.

Although chemistry may be helpful, given how much overlap there is between biology and chemistry, you don’t need a chemistry A level- they require biology and one other relevant subject (maths, for example, is an acceptable alternative).
