Help! I’m terrified of missing an SQA exam!

My National 5 English exam is tomorrow but I just suddenly broke out in hives and they’re on my face, I am terrified of going into school like this and have horrible socialising anxiety and I don’t think I could actually get myself to walk in there. My dad said he’d get a doctors note but I’m terrified the SQA will look at my As throughout the year and just bump my final grade down to a B simply because I didn’t do the exam. I don’t even know if they’ll think my hives is a valid enough excuse and just give me a no-award. I’m really terrified of getting this bad grade in National 5 English and being rejected from a lot of unis for it. I’ve only done 2 exams so far but would definitely be able to attend more in a week or so when I recover and I really want to attend those exams!

Does anyone who’s also been I’ll to an exam know more about this? I’d really appreciate it.

Unis don't care about nat5s, so don't worry about it, I would suggest contacting your school to ask for their opinion on whether you should stay off

I did! They were worried I might not be able to appeal since it wasn’t that bad of a medical condition but set me up a separate room with a personal invigilator so that I could do it which was very nice! I’m also almost completely clear of the allergic reaction now too! It wasn’t that bad of one. Thanks for asking!

i had to miss the nat 5 english exam due to food poisoning. my teachers were all very understanding, but i'm in the same boat as you were, I'm scared my predicted A will go to a B now. glad to hear you recovered enough to sit it though
