RAF - What does it mean to be pensionable?

Hi, I'm aware that when you join the RAF as an aviator (aka Airman.woman) that you serve 22 years to get your full pension. I've heard the term, to be pensionable.
What happens if I leave at 18 years? I take it I get my pension for the time served? But do you get extra or something for serving the full 22 years?

Pension is based on time served, and is paid from upwards of 2 years service, plus other factors like rank and role. If you leave the Service early, you won't get an immediate pension; it will be paid once you reach pensionable age, eg 65 or whatever it is in future.
