ln(0.5-3) = ln(-2.5)
does not exist, so x=0.5 is an extraneous solution introduced in your working, whatever it is. They want you to check your solutios in the original equation to verify that theyre not extraneous.

My working had quadratics in it… is that correct?
I’m sorry for all the qs btw.
so I’m meant to sub it in the original thanks.
Is this for every q, also when u do this q do u get 0.5 as a solution too??
im so thankful to you for all this help means a lot btw 🤍

It would help to post what working you did, but it should be second nature to verify your solutoins satisfy the original equation. Sometimes to check youve not made an error, sometimes to check youve not introduced extraneous solutions (like here).

Im presuming you combined the logs to get a dvisiion, "removed" the logs, then mutiplied through to get a quadratic? You could only remove the logs if the arguments were positive which would be a constraint which Im presuming you were not clear about?
