I’m so glad it’s over, I thought the paper went well, wasn’t as good as paper 2 but still liked it. What did everyone write for the crime and deviance 40 marker? I thought it was so vague with it being on socialisation and linked it to socialisation in education with the labelling theory and also spoke about social class in family, linking it to poverty and that but honestly feel like I just rambled a lot for it.

the 40 marker was honestly so weird. i struggled to think of 4 points supporting because poor socialisation is so??? everything i came up with was about how socialising prevents crime. for the eval though i defo did labelling theory but i’m so exhausted the rest of the exam is a blur 😭

I’m so glad I revised improper socialisation I managed to get 4 point counters
agree it was the worst out of the 3 ,the 40m was so weird everyone found it so confusing and there was not enough time . 20M too horrible i hated it and then rest alright i didnt get to finish the 9m as time was up. Hopefully as p1 and 2 were better it balances out.

So happy it's over, my a levels are done so I'm happy:smile: the 20 marker for crime was a bit iffy, I thought the 40 marker was okay. Globalisation was lovely questions I just ran out of time which I'm annoyed about:frown: hoping it went well enough for my grades haha. At least sociology is over, well done guys:smile: x
was lovely to speak to you all before the exam- calmed my nerves a lot!
For the 40 marker I wrote about The New Right, Smart arguing boys have less social control from parents so more likely to commit crime, adler arguing liberalism leads to women having less social control/socialisation so they are more likely to commit crime (ladettes as example), and right realists arguing people lacking one of the four social bonds are more likely to commit crime. Idk if they are correct but logically they make sense to me😅 any opinions?

I think your points are really good  they link to the question. I'm not an examiner so maybe I'm wrong but I'd say you're good:smile:

I used functionalists and Right realists + left realist for the a01. For my a03 i argued with interactionists in relation to crime being selective and flawed such as Chambliss

nooo i talked about the advantages and disadvantages of police recorded crime will i get a zero ?? i thought that’s what the question asked us ??
Do the arguments have to be linked to a theoretical perspective like interactionist, right realism etc.? Because I wrote about things like they are not accurate as institutional racism exist in the criminal justice system and talked about macpherson report, etc. I think I also talked about police discretion but I didn't particularly link to a theoretical perspective. Do you guys thinks its a problem?

My teacher said there’s always theories that argue against the useful and accuracy of the stats, also some theories agree with official stats (police/government). You’ll get marked up for talking about those things I’m sure - since you talked about new right etc and smart disagrees with official stats anyways. All realists and functionalists argue with the accuracy of stats and the rest don’t such as Marxists and interactionists and feminists
hey can anyone recall the exact wording of the 3 globalisation questions - trying to tell .y soc teacher!
