The Student Room Group

Will I start getting taxed more once I’ve paid my season ticket loan?

So I get taxed / national insurance / student loaned every month and then I get £398 taken out my salary for my season ticket loan.

I’m not getting a new season ticket loan this year as we can WFH more but what I want to know is whether I’ll get more taxed, student loan come out of my account once I have that extra £398? I’m hoping that I’ll have more discoposable income now but I’m worried that cos I’ll have more net pay I will get taxed more?

It depends - is your season ticket loan made through a salary sacrifice scheme or deducted from net pay?

Deducted from net pay

Deducted from net pay

In that case you won't have any extra tax or national insurance or student loan payments.
