Is digital marketing easy?

Unfortunately, this is a very tricky question to answer. I've been a marketing executive for a small/medium organisation in the past and the 'digital marketing' aspect was intertwined in many of our roles rather than just having a 'digital marketer'. The ease of it really depends on the number of channels you're managing and to what extent, the size of the organisation, and the overall aim of your campaigns.

If for example, you're referring to doing it on a freelance basis or perhaps marketing your own business, then you can manage how intensely you'd like to do it, and again, which channels you'd like to use eg. email, google ads, socials. I do know a social media marketer who loves her job, but often works outside of her hours due to wanting to maintain a good response rate on socials and preventing a build-up of un-responded to interactions.

When you say easy what do you mean?

That you have low self-esteem and are looking for a route that you can just walk into because it is easy therefore anyone can do it?

Or because you are lazy and want an easy ride?

Are you genuinely interested in being a digital marketeer and if so why? What is about that job that interests you? If you can answer these questions easily, then go for it. You will be just fine. If you are thinking - what actually is digital marketing, then this is something you need to find out!
