Which are you talking about? There are the professional doctorates (and people who did those will generally be working as psychologists - clinical, educational, forensic etc. Whichever they trained in). Then there are research PhDs - most will probably be academics although some do other things too

Hi I am talking about the Research PhD as everyone’s journey is different. I am interested in people jobs after PhD as not everyone takes the obvious route in England
