Graduation top tips in Kingston

Hi! Graduation season is upon us! If you are graduating from Kingston university then here are some top tips to maximise your day.

Head on over to the main building to get your gown and take professional photos by yourself and with family and friends! Make sure you spare lots of time as you want to relax and not feel rushed. When you are ready you can make your way over to the Rose Theatre. If you are driving- you can park in the rose theatre car park just a 1 min walk away. Before you head into the theatre, if you have time, just walk straight to the river for perfect locations to take pictures!! All along the river is ideal for photos. Once you are at the theatre you would be directed to collect yours and your guests tickets before starting the ceremony. Certificate collection is easy as its straight after you walk on stage so you then get to take photos with your certificate! After the ceremony there is a drinks reception at the Town House where you can collect a free drink, chat with your guests, take more photos with friends graduating and drop off your gown!

The day can go really fast so make sure you take time to take it all in and congratulate yourself! It is a huge achievement to graduate so take lots of photos and be proud of yourself. Think about plans for after your graduation before hand to make the most out of your special day. If you are graduating in the morning then think about booking a lunch spot or if later on then think of somewhere for dinner with family.

Some top tips to remember when graduating… bring comfy shoes to wear when walking to the theatre and back and remember to wear your actual shoes when trying on your gown so it’s the perfect size. Allow for there to be lots of time for photos, walking and relaxing so its not a rush and you can really enjoy the day with no regrets. If you would like to plan your outfit then please look at my other blog which could give you some good ideas of what to wear with the University colours.

Have fun and congratulations again!!
