Can I get into Oxford by doing 1 a level in y12 and 2 in y13.

Basically, I completed my Arabic a level at the end of year 12 and I'm now waiting for results day (17th august), I currently take physics, maths and Spanish as well but I've been predicted an E in physics and so I really want to drop it in year 13. However that means I'll only be doing 2 a levels in y13 but I'll still end up with 3 separate qualifications by august 2024. Will it put my chances down of getting into Oxford?
Also, I've been thinking that if I achieve less than an A in my Arabic, I can do the exam again by the end of year 13. Would I still need to state the a level grade I achieved in y12 on my UCAS form? Or can I not include it at all and simply put a predicted grade down?

I want to study Japanese btw

Personally, I think applying to Oxford is not the best option when you are getting an E in any of your AS level subjects. Getting an A in Arabic in Year 12 is very impressive if you learnt the language without having any relations in your family, as it is considered one of the most difficult language in the world and takes a lot of time to learn the language. You chose subjects in pairs that don't really relate to one another(languages&science), it is obscure for me what you would like to study in university. But this doesn't mean you wouldn't get in, it still would be possible to get into Oxford if you are exceptionally good at maths or language, and decided to explore scientific/linguistic subjects to widen your knowledge!

To answer your question, the UCAS website states: "You must enter all your qualifications from secondary education onwards whether you have the result (even any that were ungraded) or you're still awaiting ..."
What are you planning to apply to study at oxford?

Japanese - it comes under Asian and Middle Eastern studies if you look it up on the website.

Thank you! I am planning to study Japanese (but I had taken maths and physics at the beginning of y12 to keep my options open).
So if I drop physics come September my school says I wont need to put this on my UCAS form/personal statement as the grade E is not a official qualification, it is simply a prediction from my teachers. Also, I speak Arabic fluently hence why I had decided to take the A-level a year early (I did this in a separate school specialising in Arabic for native speakers).

Also, I emailed Oxford and they said that they take into account all A-levels completed in a 2 year period, however it's likely that offers will be made according to the 3 A-levels done in y13. I'm so confused as to whether dropping physics and only doing 2 in y13 will mess my application up. I mean I'd still end up with 3 A-levels...
