Uni Of Leeds or Uni of Liverpool

I was offered an alternative course for Leeds from mechanical engineering to physics as I didn't meet the requirements.
I also received an offer from Liverpool for mechanical engineering.
I would prefer to do mechanical engineering but I also want to go to a uni where I will enjoy my time there more and I have heard that Leeds has a better social life.

TLDR: Which university should I pick Leeds or Liverpool
If you want to do Mechanical engineering then I would go to Liverpool.

Go for the course you want. You dont want to spend 3 years doing something you arent interested in. I cannot see there wont be a good social life in Liverpool. OIt has some of the best nighlife in the UK.

Hey @Ensatsu

Well done on the offers! I'd agree with others below that you should prioritise the course over what you've heard about social life, as you want to ensure you're going to be spending your three years doing something you genuinely enjoy and are passionate about, and I'm sure Liverpool will also give you a fantastic social life, so it's got the best of both worlds for you!

Let us know what you decided!

Good luck with your studies as well, I'm sure you'll have a fab university experience

The thing is I find physics more interesting but my parents don’t want me to do it as they think the job prospects aren’t good. I am likely to go into finance or computing/programming post graduate. What do you think?

Liverpool is a great city and you will have a fantastic time - go and do the subject that you actually want.
Physics has limited job prospects? Since when?!

I still say subject trumps university so decide what you want to study and go to the university offering it.

I would say the course is key, not to mention than both Liverpool and Leeds are cracking cities with plenty of opportunities for socialising. Mind you, the Otley Run is a great pub crawl
