Do they give extra points for achieved a levels even if u did not apply there first time round for gap year applicants

if you didn't apply first time round, unless this is your first time applying to medicine, you would be rejected, because they want to see commitment to the university

Hi all,

I am really really interested in QUB as one of my options. However, my career guidance adviser had told me that it would be hard for me to get in as QuB mostly (if not only) accept Irish students and as I am a RUK student (from Surrey) that my chances are slim. So I was just wondering if thats true. Thanks!

That is not the case at all.
If you have top GCSEs, a reasonable UCAT you'll get an interview.
Scottish universities are harder to get into with the RUK quota.
has anyone who has sent in their application gotten an acknowledgement email / link to a portal?

I think it would be a good idea to
My son Emailed Queen's medical admissions and received this reply this morning: "Thank you for your enquiry. We have received your application to study Medicine at Queen’s University; acknowledgement emails will be issued, in due course." So it looks like they're not routinely issuing acknowledgements immediately after UCAS applications are submitted.

Thanks for this :h:
