The Student Room Group

Other than Birkbeck, what other universities have slightly older demographic?

For undergrad.

To be clear, by old I mean older than 18 not literally white haired dudes!

SOAS had pretty varied students in my modules whole I was there, but I was studying a small and relatively niche subject.

The OU has all kinds of students from different backgrounds.

Unis that offer several healthcare courses as they attract mature students.

Most unis will have a breakdown of student demographics on their websites. For example, in 2020-21, 11% of Liverpool Uni undergrads were age 21 or over:

Hi, I am mature student at ARU, the course is set up so that I can still manage to work full-time and I think I’ve settled in very well. Please let me know if you have any more queries I can help with about ARU.

@niloomiloo

The average student age at Huddersfield University is 27.

Universities with big healthcare and policing related courses generally attract a lot of mature students. Nursing and paramedic careers in particular are very common avenues for people retraining for a second career.
Hi @niloomiloo,

At London South Bank University, more than 50% of our students are over the age of 25, and over 30% of LSBU students joined after the age of 30.

So we do welcome various age groups and we offer services as well as support to people of all backgrounds.

I hope I managed to answer your question!

Best wishes,

So many universities skewing their stats by including postgraduates when the OP specifically asked for just undergraduates
