Driving instructor was a inapropriate and unprofessional?

I had a few lessons with this instructor but I wont be having any more lessons with her. She was too chatty and asking me personal questions while I was driving and distracting me from the road. She was like she wants to build a relationship with me like wth? I'm not there to socialise. I just want to practice driving and get my licence asap not waste my time/money and risk getting into an accident. She also kept telling me to speak up when she could hear perfectly well and commenting I have a quiet mousy voice which made me feel uncomfortable and nervous.

I'm an introvert and naturally have a quiet voice but she could hear me perfectly well, she was like I can hear you but I'm trying to get you to speak up. Shut the **** up, if you can hear me why do I need to speak up?

I had booked another lesson with her at the end of my last lesson with her but I told her I couldn't make it an have already began searching for another. What a waste of time and money. I should have known she would be like that with how chatty she was, I won't make the same mistake again.

That's weird! If you feel uncomfortable I would leave! I wouldn't waste your money! I would find another Instructor and get some lessons. Firstly I would also get your test for theory done and get practicing with your practical don't waste your time with stupid driving instructors! If your not happy and they are being weird and judgemental LEAVE! You don't need that toxicity in your life!

Thanks, I have left, cancelled the lesson I had with her and won't be seeing her again, already called 2 different companies just waiting to hear from the instructors, I'll have a lesson with both and see how it goes. Hopefully one of them will be professional. If not have to keep getting new ones and then stick with the one I am with near the test date which is annoying. Yeah that's what I'm going to do, I'm already revising for theory and going to book it. Once I've passed the theory I'm going to book the practical then just practice until test date because all instructors are just greedy for money not going to wait until they say I'm ready to book, they just drag it on to keep getting money. Fingers crossed I'll pass both first time! The amount of money I've spent on stupid instructors is mad. I've only had a few lessons recently but had loads years ago so I don't need loads of lessons just need to book and practice. I should be fine.

Not all students gel with a tutor that is for sure. Just look at the likes and dislikes at school, college, and Uni, and some tutors make difficult subjects seem easy. When you work in an enclosed confined and stressful environment that relationship is even more crucial.

It would be good for you to talk with your driving instructor and check with them whether they think you are actually able and ready for your practical test. Your imagined view of your driving ability can be very different to that expected by a DVSA examiner. Instructors are not necessarily greedy for the money as they are now judged on the mistakes made by each of their students. These mistakes are held over them and their instructional ability and their licence. There are so many instructors, both good and bad but what matters more is having someone you get on with and who will take time to explain why you are doing something wrong. Then work with you to put it right. Regardless it can take you a while to retrain to correct bad habits that you have already learnt. It is crucial to practice correct skills so that they are automatic and do not break down under the pressure of a test.

If you have no other private driving practice you should be looking at around 67 hours of on road driving hours pre test (45 hours professional tuition and 22 hours additional practice) This is Driver Vehicle Standards Association (DVSA) recommendation
I mean she might've been trying to make you feel more comfortable by chatting with you. Also if she was asking you to speak up it probably wasn't that she "could hear [you] perfectly well" but was having a hard time hearing you - especially as she commented your voice was quiet.

In any event though it's obvious that relationship with the instructor is unsalvageable so you should look for a new one. But you might want to manage your expectations and be aware that not everything is to make you uncomfortable or make you do worse and sometimes people are just different to you but trying to be supportive in the only ways they know how.

The customer is king, so if you’re not hitting it off with an instructor it is fine to change. This said instructors are human too and you do seem a tad intolerant

Most instructors I've had recently have told me to book my test but I'm not going to yet because I'm not ready.

She wasn't trying to make me more comfortable, she was being nosy and even said she could hear me but wanted me to speak up. I didn't feel more comfortable, it made me feel worse, I'm not interested in getting to know them or they getting to know me, I just want to learn to drive and get my licence. I've already had a few instructors since and they've all been worse than her. I just can't seem to find a good one.

I'm not intolerant, I have to be comfortable with the instructor or I can't learn. Today I had a lesson with someone else and kept making mistakes because I wasn't comfortable with her. I was feeling anxious the whole time.

I'm just giving my opinion based on what you've said here, but you do come across as a little hard to work with, like you sound almost a bit intolerant of them not being an introvert.
