Ways To Earn Money As A Student

With a new term starting and the cost of living crisis still ongoing, you might be wondering how to stay afloat as a student balancing both your studies and your bank balance. Luckily, here are some of the top ways to earn money as a student - but if you have any alternatives that you'd also recommend, let me know down below!

Part-Time Jobs
Okay, okay - this is a bit of an obvious one. Part-time jobs are probably the most reliable way to make money as a student, as you'll usually have a minimum number of working hours a week and a fixed payday. However, it's important to make sure you're not working so many hours that it interferes with your studies - most universities recommend anywhere between 12-20 hours a week, ideally at weekends.

Become A Delivery Driver
If you're on a course with a fairly unpredictable schedule, you'll need working hours that can be flexible around any commitments that might pop up. If that's the case, and you have access to a bicycle/car, consider becoming a delivery driver for companies like Deliveroo. You can work whenever you want for however long you choose - which is a great option if you're a bit short on your student loan at the end of the month and need some extra hours to top it up!

Tutoring
If you're particularly strong in one or two subjects or have a good handful of A-Levels/equivalent qualifications, consider tutoring to GCSE/A-Level students! You can advertise locally, or list yourself on sites like Superprof and MyTutor for one-to-one tutoring opportunities. Furthermore, if you're an international student who speaks a foreign language fluently, consider teaching it to individuals either locally or online for a few hours a week to earn some dosh.

Paid Surveys
If you're only looking for a little bit of extra money to buy a few more drinks on your nights out, paid surveys might be for you! Sites like OnePoll and Swagbucks offer money and gift cards for filling out online forms from the comfort of your own home - but make sure to check the site is legit in their payouts before investing too much time!

Fiverr
If you're an aspiring artist, website designer, proofreader or voice actor, Fiverr might be the place for you! On top of allowing you to build a good background of work experience whilst still studying, getting freelance gigs on Fiverr can allow you to pursue something you love and get paid at the same time.
