Leaving Harrogate to join the RAF
I'm leaving AFC Harrogate to join the RAF as a cyberspace communication specialist because this is a role that is more suited to me than infantry which is what I was put down for in Harrogate. Is my time in army phase 1 likely to have a negative effect on my RAF application?
Phase 1 is fundamentally the same throughout whstever regiment you join. It'll look good if you pass it as it'll show that you have the discipline and aptitude to continue through to the next phase of training.
But (thinking of life outside the forces) do try and avoid infantry - from a 13 year veteran.

So long as you get a good report, then it will only help when you join the RAF that you have an understanding of what Basic is like and have some service knowledge to share with your colleagues.
