Suspended studies overpayment

I suspended my undergrad studies from uni on the 3rd of November approx after 6 weeks of attending. I have been sent a letter by sfe with an overpayment of £1290 which was fair enough however I’ve gone to check my sfe account and the balance now reads £4460.15 in which no way I’ll be able to repay before having to reapply for finance in 2024 for September to start studying undergrad again. Will my overpayment affect my tuition and maintenance loan? I’ve read that sfe will just take it off my loan for next year but I am unemployed and low income family so I’ll probably only be left with half of the loan I should be eligible for.
