Loan overpayment

Hi. I Am in 3rd year of uni. We have 2 semesters each year. I studies the first semester then suspended my studies because of some personal reasons and now I am thinking of withdrawing. I wasn’t given any maintenance loan for this year just the tuition fee for first semester. I want to know if I will pay this back normally according to the threshold or would it be considered as an overpayment? I am really worried. Can anybody help me out?

Hi hafaqIshtiaq,

The Tuition Fee Loan will go into your repayments as normal, it is only the Maintenance Loan and grants that would be considered an overpayment if you withdraw.

I haven’t taken any loan this year just the tuition fee . So If I withdraw now there won’t be any overpayment? I will start paying back from April right?

Hi ShafaqIshtiaq,

That would be correct based on what you have advised. If you have any further repayment queries, you need to contact them directly.

If you prefer to communicate to them via chat then you can message them on Twitter https://twitter.com/messages/compose?recipient_id=806835849916719104 or Facebook http://m.me/SLCRepayment - alternatively they are also available on the phone, their number is 0300 100 0611.

Thanks, Clare
