Inturrupting studies and finances

I was just wondering what happens when you interrupt your studies with your student finance. Do you still get the funding for the year or does it stop until you stat back up in the next academic year? Also is there any immediate payment when inturrupting?

Thank you!

Hi Elysha,

When you withdraw or suspend we will require an electronic Change of Circumstance (COC) from your university to confirm the date you last attended your course. Once this is received and processed our assessors will recalculate your entitlement for the length of time you attended the course which may lead to an overpayment. If you have an overpayment you can either pay this back right away or agree a payment plan with the collections team, or when you do return this will be removed from your future entitlement. You wouldn't be eligible for any loan past the last date of attendance. Thanks, Jason

Hi there,

If you suspend from your course we require your university to send us a change of circumstances to confirm this. Once received, we will update your account and future payments will be put on hold till you return. Are you suspending due to health reasons?

Thanks,
Claire

Hi Jason, thank you for your quick response! How does the repayment plan work? Thanks, Elysha.

Any monies you were eligible for would go onto your repayment that starts to be paid back the April after you finish (once you are earning over the threshold). Thanks, Jason

Does this also apply for overpayment if you are unable to repay that straight away? Thanks, Elysha.

No. The overpayment is different. You'd be contacted via letter regarding any overpayment and as above, ways to pay this back. Any questions regarding that you can contact the number on the letter when/if you receive this for further assistance. Thanks, Jason
