University Extra/Supercurriculars

I am looking to attend top universities and applying next year (I'm in Year 12). I got mainly 9s in my GCSEs and I'm predicted two A* and two As for A-level but I've read that grades aren't enough.
I'm looking at places like UCL, Warwick and Durham and am wondering what sort of things I need to put in my personal statements and activities I need to have to present a strong application
What course are you applying for?

Then just read beyond the curriculum.
Listen to adaptations on the radio.
Watch adaptations in film/on stage.
Listen to podcasts about literature.
Step outside your comfort zone and read things you don’t think you’ll like.
Keep a diary of what you’re reading/watching/listening to and what you think of it.
