Swollen Tonsil

Hi, Do I need to see a GP for a swollen tonsil. Is it normal for just one tonsil to be swollen. How can I be sure that it is swollen. Thanks.

Salt water can reduce swelling and discomfort. You can try gargling and rinsing with warm salt water. Also, drink more liquid. If it doesn't work, then it is better to see a GP.
Anyway, I recommend not to self-treat. Don't take any medications you don't know much about or if you are not sure about the dosage. At least, check the info online, I often use the Canadian pharmacy site for this purpose. Be careful and I hope for your fast recovery.

If it doesn't clear up then maybe make a GP appointment.

Yes. It might be an abscess which may require antibiotics or drainage.
