If you were in halls and the place wasn't what you expected or you're with a group of people you don't get along with are you able to move halls?

It really depends on which university you go to and if there are other rooms available in other halls (if talking about university-owned halls).

If it's a private hall, highly unlikely unless you find your own place and find someone to take over your lease.

In either case, best to speak with the hall operator for advice!

Hi there,
It will depend on the university. For example, in my first year accommodation at my university, there was a scheme where if you wanted to swap accommodation and there was someone who also wanted to swap in the accommodation your were interested in, you could. It may be worth contacting your university accommodation team to see what is possible.
