Computer Science direct entry to 2nd year

I've just received an offer to study Computer Science at st andrews with direct entry into 2nd year. I wanted to ask how intense this course is especially as a 2nd year entry student. What do you think of the course? How are the graduate prospects and how does the course compare with other top unis like Manchester and Durham (I have offers from there too which is why I ask)?
I also wanted to ask how is life as a 2nd year entry student overall as I've heard its quite intense. Will I still have much time for other things and will my experience be the same/similar to a normal first year entry student?Thanks

I was 2nd year DE to chemistry at Strathclyde. Although I managed level always thought it would have been a lot better to go in 1st year from social perspective. Find your feet, etc. 1st year is easier if you’ve done well enough to be offered 2nd year DE. Some foundational things taught in year 1 won’t be what you have learnt at school.
But you have one year less of fees if you do 2nd year DE.
