Failed dissertation for misconduct

The panel determined that the appropriate penalty in this case would be
‘resubmission for maximum module mark of 0.

Please what does resubmission for maximum mark of 0 mean?

The exam board already stated that i have failed the dissertation but can be allowed to resubmit for maximum mark 0. Please how will this affect my masters degree?

I passed every other course, can I still get a merit?

You should consult your university regs but you are probably resubmitting in order to get the credits for the module. The calculations will then be done with all of your marks to establish your final grade. This will determine what you are offered in terms of an exit qualification.

You will resubmit for the credit so that you can graduate, but you will not be awarded a grade.

It will have a detrimental impact on your average and, one would think, this impact could well mean a pass grade lower than a merit (unless you've been working at an exceptionally high level elsewhere in the course).
