Applying for Loan and DSA

My son is lucky enough to have some money from his grandparents which will cover tuition fees and part of his living expenses for 1 year. We are therefore thinking of not applying for student finance in his foundation year to save on the interest cost. However he will need student finance for all his subsequent years so will apply then. Will him not applying for finance in his foundation year impact his ability to apply in later years? (NB he will also be applying for DSA this year as he has ASD, ADHD and dyspraxia). Thank you.

Hi there,

This won't cause any problems when your son applies in subsequent years, rest assured.

In terms of DSA, if you have any questions regarding that specifically you can e-mail the team using the address below.

Thanks, Graeme
