I just want to ask a question about getting measured.

I know I've been wearing the wrong sized bra for like ever so today I decided to pop into get measured.
Looking at my boobs I would say they're not small but not big either, just about average - like a C cup, possibly a D.

So I goes to get measured and the lady concluded saying I am a 34FF. I think this is complete bull, but I had to buy a bra to qualify for free fitting so I went ahead and bought the cheepest one because I'm sure its wrong. My boobs aren't FF! And the back feels kind of tight. I was just wondering what the bra should actually look like on? Because the cups completely cover my boobs, quite high up... and although my boobs fit well enough into the cups, i am sure I am not a FF because my boobs just don't look that big.

When I got told I was a 30F I was like "no....I can't be!" because my boobs really aren't that big! and I imagine F to be huge, which is wrong! But its right, and if the bra fits, then you must be!! you were probably wearing too small before! Also...I have NO idea how Katie Price is meant to be a 32D, when her boobs are WAY bigger than mine!

ok girls I got one of those T back convertor's and it does the job. My bra straps stay in place now I can move around in all sorts of positions without worrying a bra strap is going to pop out anymore, they are a bit uncomfortable tho and certianly hard to put on and adjust whilst wearing the bra. Overall I probably still prefer wearing the strapless as I have got used to it now and I have never had a comment about it drooping down whilst I used to get comments about my bra straps falling down, it is amazing how many people noticed considering my bra straps were always only down for a few seconds at the most. The lady I spoke to on the phone wear I got the strap convertor from suggested my current bras might simply be worn out since they all over 6 months old (all 2 of them LOL) in fact one of them is nearly 2 years old and before I got my strapless I was wearing it a lot. She tried to then sell me some new bras but I told her thanks but the bras are I got are comfortable, was just a problem with the straps which is now solved by the convertor so I effectively have made these bras longer life now. When I am not around others I can wear them normally without the convertor and is just a minor inconveniance to fix the straps when they fall down. If someone comes round whilst I have one of my old bras on without the convertor I will either not worry depending on who it is or just stick a shirt or something on so my arms are covered. I usually push the straps as far up my shoulder as they can go anyway before opening the door so they are fine for that, its just if I have to drop my shoulder or the person is staying round for a bit. So to me I am happy now and with only buying 1 new bra in the process.
does anyone have any recommendations on where I can find a relatively cheap sports bra? I have a stupid bra size (32E) and am also on a budget, the only ones I have found so far are from figleaves and £25+ :frown:

I ordered a tankini top from Figleaves on july 6th, it hasn't come. I hope they will send me another one :frown: It cost £38.50 with p+p.
I'm going to Debenhams on Monday to get properly fitted :king1:
But my friend said that I should probably get fitted at the place i'll buy more underwear from, so if i'm wanting to buy more stuff in La Senza then I should get fitted there.

Just wondering if you think her logic is right.. :dontknow:

I would have thought that seeing as it's a bra fitting then they'll give you your bra size which applies to all the shops!
But maybe i'm being a bra fitting noob :ninjagirl:

I'd still get fitted at somewhere decent regardless of where you purchase so not La Senza, I suspect the staff aren't as well rained in fitting bras. I always hear bad things anyway... So rather than just taking note of the size they tell you and sticking with it I'd take more note of how a properly fitting bra looks and feels as size will vary between styles as well as between stores. For example the other day I bought 2 bras in slightly different sizes in M&S because they just fitted different. Obviously take note of the size and use it as a starting point but try and learn how a bra should look so you can judge yourself everytime you try one on.

Also, whatever you getted fitted as in Debenhams may not be what you buy in La senza as la senza bras tend to come up smaller in my opinion.

Well, still better to get measured somewhere decent eh? So like you say you can make the most of what you got! John Lewis is pretty good too apparently!
Reply 392
Does Debenhams do fittings? If so, are they any good? Cos there is no John Lewis or Bravissimo within a hundred miles of where I live...

Debenhams does, but apparently it's a bit hit and miss as to whether they're any good. It's worth a shot though . If you're a relatively small clothes size and come out with a measurement with a big back size and small cup size, chances are that it's an incorrect fitting.
Generally speaking, Debenhams > La Senza when it comes to being fitted though.. or am I talking nonsense? :p: That's just what i've heard.

Definitely. La Senza have a tendency to fit too small in the cup to create porn star-esque cleavage.

Niiiice.

Although mine could probably do with any help they can get -_-

But yeah, best to be fitted properly.

There's natural cleavage, and there's "my boobs are being squished together and bursting out of my bra", which is both uncomfortable and unattractive.

Properly fitting bras are amazing. Most people end up in larger cup sizes than they thought, and even if your boobs aren't actually any bigger, you feel better about yourself :p:.

I'm about a size 10, smallish boobs and wear a 34B at the moment. Cant imagine that it'll come out much different to that....

You're probably less than a 34 in back size if you're a size 10. I'm a 10 and I was wearing a 32 or 34 and got measured and told I was actually a 30.
